The Timeless Feminine Classics
The history of feminine perfumery is punctuated by masterpieces that defined their era before transcending any era — fragrances carrying within them something universal, an accord so right that it continues to move generations who never witnessed their birth. Chanel's N°5, born in 1921 from an aldehyde revolution, is probably the most famous fragrance in the world and one of the most refined. Guerlain's Shalimar, with its balsamic vanilla and leather-bergamot accord, invented the concept of the modern oriental in 1925. Yves Saint Laurent's Opium scandalised and conquered in 1977 with its explosive spiced oriental. Mugler's Angel broke all codes in 1992 with its gourmand notes of praline and patchouli that existed in no prior olfactive vocabulary. These fragrances all changed history — and they still change those who wear them.
